Northern Ireland’s public transport services provider, Translink, are on board for another year of movie mania as they announce their sponsorship of the 2008 Cola–Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival’s Education Programme.

Cinemagic is delighted to have the ongoing support of Translink, who will actively contribute to youth development by providing schools with free return bus travel to Belfast, to attend a fun-filled series of screenings and workshops during the annual film festival which takes place from 13th November – 5th December.

Translink Marketing Executive Ciarán Rogan said: “We are delighted to once again support Cinemagic and provide free transport for schools attending festival workshops and screenings. Our ongoing partnership allows pupils to explore the fascinating world of motion picture, develop their self-confidence and creative potential. With more young people engaging with all forms of moving image we will also help to secure a brighter future for Northern Ireland’s vibrant arts scene. As an added bonus we are offering festival-goers a special 2 for 1 cinema ticket deal for all festival screenings on presentation of a valid Translink bus or rail ticket at the Cinemagic box office.”
Joan Burney, Chief Executive of Cinemagic, explains the benefits of the association: “With thanks to Translink, Cinemagic is able to increase access for schools, right across Northern Ireland, wishing to attend Cinemagic festival events. This in turn increases the amount of young people engaging with the arts and creative industries, and therefore it is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to have fun and learn in a creative way, as well as being transported to the venue safely.”
