Cinemagic Talent Labs
Top film industry professionals, including two Academy Award winners Christine Blundell (Topsy Turvy, Casino Royale, Sherlock Holmes) and Jenny Beavan (A Room with a View, Gosford Park, Alexander) will visit Belfast on 3rd and 4th December for the annual Cinemagic ‘Talent Lab’ sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland.
The ‘Talent Lab’ that is part of the annual Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival offers young people, aged 16-25, the chance to participate in masterclasses such as Costume Design, Make-up for Film, Fights for Stage and Screen, Scriptwriting, Film Production, Casting and Location Management.

Promising to be a fantastic mix of creativity, fun and learning, the ‘Talent Lab’ takes place from 10am-4pm each day in The Europa Hotel and CCEA, and culminates in a special awards ceremony in Odeon Cinemas, Belfast (4th Dec), where the most promising young people in each masterclass will be awarded.
Other film professionals hosting masterclasses include Terry Bamber (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Phantom of the Opera), David Cain (Thunderbirds, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hannibal Rising), and Andrew Wilson (City of Ember, Middletown, Breakfast on Pluto).
Joan Burney Keatings, Cinemagic Chief Executive, said “With valued support from Invest Northern Ireland, Cinemagic is once again able to offer a fantastic series of ‘Talent Lab’ masterclasses for young people interested in learning about different roles and careers in the film industry. All of the masterclass participants will be given first-hand advice and gain new skills from the film professionals over the two days. It’s also a chance to network with other like-minded people and pick up top tips on how to succeed in the industry.”

Each of the film craft-based workshops will be of particular value to CCEA’s Moving Image Arts, Art & Design and Drama students, who will benefit greatly from this dynamic and hands-on learning opportunity.”
