British Animation Awards at QFT
From the early adventures of Morph to the “Simples!” meerkats, British animation has always held a special place in the hearts of the public. Northern Ireland audiences will have the opportunity to show their support for the very best in British animation by voting for the winners of the 2010 British Animation Awards at QFT.
Three programmes of finalists will be shown at QFT from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 February and audiences can vote for their favourites in three categories after the screenings.
Susan Picken, Head of QFT said: “The British Animation Awards recognise and reward the most promising and talented people in the animation industry and help to bring this endlessly inventive art form to an even wider audience. It is fantastic news that this event is coming to Northern Ireland for the first time and we are looking forward to a fun series of screenings.”
Each of the three programmes contains a mix of short films, animated commercials and music videos, including several international festival award winners. Highlights include Coldplay’s video for Strawberry Swing, Cadbury’s Creme Egg ads and a short film about two unicyclists falling in love in a forest.
Tickets for the British Animation Awards – Public Choice are £6 full price, £5 concessions, £3.50 QFT Members and are available to book online at www.queensfilmtheatre.com
