James Holden : Shine

Submitted by Muze on Thursday, 4 September 2008No Comment

Shine on Saturday 4th October, witnesses the return of Belfast favorite James Holden to headline alongside Shine debutant, We Love Sundays at Space resident, Nic Fanciulli.

Holden, the extremely popular Border Community label founder, is no stranger to Belfast, having played a number of memorable sets at both Shine and The Stiff Kitten in recent years.

Making his first appearance at Shine is the current star of tech-house, Nic Fanciulli. Having toured with James Zabiela, under the One+One alias, produced multiple dancefloor hits such as Lucky Heather and also becoming a Space Ibiza resident, Fanciulli alongside Holden should not be missed!

James Holden is a British electronic music artist and DJ who has released numerous singles and remixes on different labels such as Lost Language, Perfecto Recordings, and Positiva Recordings. He currently runs his Border Community record label. He was also one-third of Mainline, which was responsible for the double single of “Narcotic” and “Innerspace”.

He has also worked with singer Julie Thompson as Holden & Thompson. He studied Mathematics at Oxford University and released his first record at age 19. In April 2006 his mix album James Holden at the Controls was Mixmag’s Album of the Month. Josh Gabriel, former member of Gabriel & Dresden describes Holden as “a modern genius”.

Nic Fanciulli is a young and fresh DJ, producer and remixer – currently one of the hottest talents in the UK. Through Club Class, Fanciulli has gained massive respect from DJs across the spectrum for his unique take on house music. Xpress2 proclaimed him their tip for the top in October 2002, whilst Pete Tong said he was the finest resident in the UK as well as props from Yousef and Seb Fontaine along the way.
